Management of production
I think that my management of production went pretty well and i got all of my filming and editing done on time for the deadline. At the beginning I started planning my social action documentary and what I was going to do for it. I had a hard time deciding which topic I should do for my social action documentary. At the beginning i was going to do traffic but i decided to do bullying from just texting but decided to add social media as well. After this I researched a little bit more about the topic and then I started to plan out a questionnaire which I had to put together such as the age range and other things which would be able to help with my social action documentary. After I completed my questionnaire I printed about 10 out and handed them out to different people around the college to get a variety of answers. I also did some secondary research to find out of more information and stories of people who have already been bullied to show what other people has already been through. With the secondary research I had to complete a bibliography to show where I got all of the information from because I needed evidence. After this i started creating a storyboard to show what my documentary is going to look like i would know what i am doing and after this I had to decide when i was filming and who will also be in my documentary because I needed to borrow a camera for part of the documentary. For example I needed to use a camera in my media lessons to film parts such as interviews and background of the college. With this I had to create a production blog so we are able to keep track of when we filmed and what shots so we know what we had to film and when my actors are free to film. Each time I imported the footage onto the Mac and started editing so it put less pressure on myself. I used iMovie to edit my documentary. Also while i was editing I found some sound effects which would fit well with the documentary and also I found music for the background of the documentary. I chose Sam Callahan Bigger Things because i thought it would go well and it would match the theme of the documentary which was bullying. I believe that the editing went smoothly and I was able to finish edit except at one point while I was trying to import footage into a file onto iMovie it said I wasn't able to because the storage was full. After this i exported the video and uploaded it onto Youtube where i was able to have it on my blog where everyone was able to watch it. Overall I believe the product went smoothly even though there were a few errors and I didn't get that many clips of me asking people as I wasn't too confident going out and asking people. If i could do this again i would of done more research and ask more people to be in the documentary to b able to get more data.
Constraints experienced
Some constraints was that I wasn't confident enough to go around and ask random people. This was hard for me to ask people because I don't like to go out and ask people because i can come across shy when I don't know someone and also some people might not want to answer the question Also that I wasn't quite sure about what I wanted the video to look like and what questions I was going to ask for my questionnaire. I wanted the questions to help me with my documentary and it was hard to think of some without repeating myself. With this I was limited with the age range i asked because i didn't go out in public to ask people. With having limited of footage my documentary wasn't that long.
Audience feedback
In class we all watched of our videos back so we were able to see what everyone did and how well they think the documentary is. Here are some of the comments which I received back. The first comment was that it was good but I should of added more interviews and the background music should of been a bit quieter and parts I wasn't able to hear the clips. Another comment is that the I should of made it longer as my video was only 2 minutes long and there should of been less writing and more people speaking into it.
